A day after winning ESL Pro League Season 12 – Europe, Astralis has revealed the return of Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth. The 25-year-old has been out of the starting lineup since taking an extended break starting in May due to fatigue and burnout.
The clutch minister as he’s known by many will return to action with Astralis at the BLAST Premier Fall Series as he’s been selected by head coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen for the events lineup. October 29th will mark his return debut and if all goes well the team would be in the event until its final day, November 4th.
The team will be playing in the upcoming DreamHack Open fall Regional Major Ranking event without him, however. The rest of the lineup for the BLAST event has not yet been revealed.
Astralis took down Natus Vincere in the finals of the grand finals of EPL Season 12 in a reverse sweep. Na’Vi began the series with a one map advantage due to their upper bracket success and managed to win the first in the series to go up 2-0. Astralis had to battle tooth and nail for the following two maps, however, and took the first at 16-14 and the second in double overtime to force the final map. Overpass would be another close affair but ultimately 16-11 would be the final score with the Danes walking away victorious.
