Day 2 of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines is complete and the hype behind Nexplay Solid has faltered. The new team on the block suffered a loss while back-to-back Season 4 & 5 champions Aura PH picked up their first win and Cignal Ultra took down BSB.
Nexplay Solid vs. Blacklist International:
Nexplay had looked solid in their opener against Blu Fire but Blacklist International looked more than ready. The team pulled off an attack-heavy lineup which seemed to be just what they needed against a more well-rounded list of picks from Nexplay Solid. They’d take the first map and head into the second with confidence. Nexplay adjusted their game plan for match two, picking a more burst-heavy roster of heroes. This time Blacklist would go for a more support-heavy lineup, drastically changing things up. Nexplay’s changes would be for not as the team was destroyed 14-0 to hand Blacklist the 2-0 victory.
Cignal Ultra vs. BSB:
Cignal Ultra pulled off a come from behind victory in their season opener against BSB. In a nail biting three game series which saw tough competition throughout, Cignal Ultra would ultimately pull ahead. The team took the first map but a big second match victory for BSB at 20 kills to eight would force a third and final. This would be a close one with the teams staying neck-to-neck in score until the late game when Cignal Ultra would go on a 4-1 run and shift the tides enough in their favor to take the map and the series.
Aura PH vs. Execration:
The match between the reigning champions Aura PH and Execration was an interesting one. It kicked off with a bit of a trolly match by Rafflesia who seemed to be feeding his opponents early on. Even so, Aura maintained a 10k gold lead while being down 20-10 in terms of kills. Despite all this, Aura PH would make a big play late in the game as Rafflesia of all people would get the lord and go on to win five 1v1 battles to push his team to victory. Things got more serious in match two and somehow that meant it was Execration who took the match thanks to a lineup and playstyle that made Aura uncomfortable, causing uncharacteristic mistakes. This would force the third and final game.
Aura PH looked revitalized as they came out with an early 5-1 lead which would build to 12-4 by the mid game. Execration would finally put their foot down thanks to big plays from Ch4knu’s Atlas but ultimately it wouldn’t matter. Aura continued to make big plays and eventually closed out the map and series 2-1.
