In Winners Finals, Axe played an incredibly competitive set against Zachary “SFAT” Cordoni. He shared the final moments of the set on Twitter. This included his pop-off after narrowly making a high-percent two-stock comeback to win game five. Afterward, Axe scored another 3-1 victory over FatGoku in Grand Finals of Rona Rumble 5.

Up to this point, online competition had not treated Axe as nicely as offline competition. Consider ModGod Championship, where he went 1-2 as the tournament’s first seed. He even considered using exclusively Young Link for future netplay tournaments. However, Pikachu certainly served Axe well throughout Rona Rumble 5.

Other results from Rona Rumble 5

FatGoku had an impressive run to 2nd place at Rona Rumble 5 as the tournament’s sixth seed. He beat Ralph Arroyo and Zaid “Spark” Ali before dropping his first set to Axe. FatGoku’s losers run started as he eliminated Kyle “Kalamazhu” Zhu and took another set off of Spark. Finally, FatGoku scored a 3-0 win against SFAT in Losers Finals.

As Rona Rumble 5’s first seed and the winner of ModGod Championship, SFAT’s 3rd place finish was a bit disappointing. Even so, he scored some respectable wins throughout the tournament. SFAT defeated Andrew “theunabletable” Jones, Kalamazhu, and Juan “Medz” Garcia.

Jason “CrossFitJesus” Fagundes had a solid run to 7th place at this event. He dropped into the losers bracket early, losing his second match to theunabletable. Despite this, CrossFitJesus put together a strong losers run. Along the way, he eliminated Floats, Ryan “Traplord” Willard, and DaJuan “Shroomed” McDaniel.
