Best Overwatch League Matches For The 2021 Season

These matches feature the best the Overwatch League has to offer.

The Overwatch League 2021 Season is just around the corner, so now is a perfect time to take a look at the upcoming matches. Here is our selection of the best games to look up for in the first weeks of the Overwatch League 2021 Season.

Los Angeles Gladiators vs San Francisco Shock: April 16

The first match that should keep your attention is the Los Angeles Gladiators against the San Francisco Shock.

The Los Angeles Gladiators signed many new players at the end of the Overwatch League 2020 season. The team features two former Overwatch League champions, but will that be enough to defeat the reigning champions of San Francisco Shock? For their match against the San Francisco Shock, the Los Angeles Gladiators can count on the experience of Grant “Moth” Espe, former Shock player.

Ever since the Overwatch League 2019 Season, the San Francisco Shock seems unstoppable. The team won the Overwatch League not once, but twice in a row. Four players have been with the team since 2018, and team captain Matthew “super” DeLisi is with the team since its creation. The new signings of the San Francisco Shock for the 2021 Season are all veterans of the Overwatch League, bringing their share of experience to the group.

The San Francisco Shock begins the season with a solid roster, but the Los Angeles Gladiators are still able to put up a fight with the Overwatch League reigning champions.

Philadelphia Fusion vs Seoul Dynasty: April 17

The Philadelphia Fusion is heading into this new Overwatch League season with a roster similar to last year. The new signings for the 2021 Season include Overwatch World Cup Champion and Overwatch League Inaugural Season Leader Dong-gyu “Mano” Kim, as well as Overwatch League 2019 and 2020 Winner Dong-jun “Rascal” Kim. The addition of these experienced players to a roster that already placed second in the Overwatch League 2020 Regular Season should bring the keys to the Philadelphia Fusion to take the crown this year.

Facing the Philadelphia Fusion are the Seoul Dynasty, vice-champions of the Overwatch League 2020 Playoffs. Since the team signed former NYXL and World Cup Champions Jong-ryeol “Saebyeolbe” Park and Taesung “Anamo” Jung, the Seoul Dynasty made no change to its roster this off-season. Not only are the Seoul Dynasty players among the best individually, but they are also used to playing together and have good synergy.

The Philadelphia Fusion and Seoul Dynasty are two of the best teams from the Overwatch League, with similar experience and individual talent. This match will be a good display of the potential of each team, both battling for the top of the League.

Shanghai Dragons vs Hangzhou Spark: April 30

The Shanghai Dragons is currently one of the best teams in the Overwatch League. The team won the Overwatch League 2020 Regular Season and Asia Playoffs, finishing in the 3rd position during the Grand Finals. The Shanghai Dragons also won their first competition in 2021, the NetEase Esports X Tournament. They won 3-0 against the Dallas Fuel and defeated the Guangzhou Charge 3-0 in the Finals.

While the Hangzhou Spark doesn’t yet have the same success as the Shanghai Dragons, their latest signings should reinforce the team coming into the Overwatch League 2021 Season. The Hangzhou Spark signed Overwatch League 2019 Vice-Champion Min-soo “SeoMinSoo” Seo and Overwatch League 2019 Champion Minho “Architect” Park alongside Contenders players. This new lineup hasn’t yet played in 2021, making it hard to predict how well the players will coordinate. However, their individual talent and the experience of Overwatch League champions should help the Hangzhou Spark put up a fight against the Shanghai Dragons.

The Overwatch League 2021 Season will begin on April 16, with the first of four tournaments dividing the season. Check out our partner to wager on these matches with no deposit bonuses.
