Black Ops Cold War leak hints at Nuke event for Warzone Season 1

Season 1 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is just around the corner. While this is great for the new title, it also means that Warzone battle royale is finally joining the Black Ops universe. When Season 1 arrives on Thursday, December 10, the BR will be fully-integrated into Cold War. You can read more details on what that means in our previous article on the subject. The brand new season for both games means a ton of content coming both on the 10th and further down the line in December and in 2021. Fortunately, we may have seen a glimpse into what Activision has planned in the near future for Black Ops Cold War season 1, and it revolves around the infamous Nuke event.

Nuke event finally happening in Warzone?

Some kind of in-game event involving a tactical nuke has been leaked for Warzone since the summer. The game has hinted at this kind of event for months with the bunkers, launch codes, rocket, etc. However, up to this point, no such event has taken place.

Season 1 could change that, though, as leakers have found clear evidence of the Nuke in Warzone. Ahead of the new season, the game files for Black Ops Cold War have been updated. Dataminers were able to find some cosmetics that relate directly to some kind of large scale explosion.

The leak also showcases evidence for the formerly datamined Alcatraz map in Warzone. The rumor is that Alcatraz from Black Ops 4‘s Blackout will make its way to Warzone when Season 1 launches. This is to bide time for the developers to design a completely new map to replace Verdansk sometime in 2021.

Alcatraz is reportedly designed extremely similar to how it was in Black Ops 4. However, to match the 1980s theme of Black Ops Cold War, the theme of the map has slightly changed. Of course, all of this information is circumstantial, so take these leaks with a grain of salt.
