BLAST Bounty Hunt is the newest tournament where the fans can earn prize money

BLAST Pro Series CS:GO tournaments distinguished themselves in the genre over the years and in 2018 the company behind them was awarded the Initiative Award of the Year at the Copenhagen Congress for the BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen 2017.

While in CS:GO BLAST Pro Series latest CS:GO competition was held in December 2019 in Bahrain with $500,000 on the line and crowned Astralis champions, the organizers are expanding their reach to Dota 2 with an online tournament for teams from Europe in a fresh format that is somewhat akin to Midas Mode.

BLAST Bounty Hunt will be held June 9-13 with a $145,000 US dollar prize pool and a twist to how the money is distributed. The hint is in the name. The prize pool is dynamic, which means that each team will start with a base prize money and will earn bounties with every match played. “A winning team with an unbeaten record could walk away with up to $51,120 plus with additional bounties won, teams can be winning up to $96,000” explained the tournament organizers in their official announcement.

Additionally, the viewers at home will be able to vote daily bounties, which probably are certain challenges set for the teams, similar to what Midas Mode has done in the past. One lucky person will have their name be a part of the daily bounty name. More details about the bounty vote mechanics will be revealed prior to the start of the tournament.

An innovative feature brought by BLAST Bounty Hunt is the possibility for fans at home to also win some money by playing a Fan Prediction game. There will be $5,000 up for grabs going to those who will be able to predict the winners of each match, the number of bounties collected and a couple of exciting other twists and surprising turns throughout the tournament.

Six of the best teams in Europe have already confirmed their participation in the event in June and will work together to seed each other and play in a double-elimination bracket, best-of-three series with a best-of-five grand final. The seeding is important in regards with the dynamic prize pool mentioned above as the Seed 1 and 2 teams will start with $20.000 in their bank and 40% of their bounty is up for grabs every time they compete against another. The rest of the teams will start at $15,000. $45.000 of Additional Bounties can be won along the way.
