The Brazilian Counter-Strike Circuit (CBCS) announced Thursday cryptocurrency exchange company Mercado Bitcoin as its newest sponsor. Mercado Bitcoin will not only have its brand displayed in CBCS broadcasts but also produce special content to be delivered during the games, along with nine episodes of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tips to be posted in the competition’s social media channels.
According to the company, the objective is to introduce the concepts of digital assets, cryptocurrencies, utility tokens, FanTokens, and NFT to the CS:GO audience. The crypto market has been gaining terrain in the esports world: the traditional esports organization TSM has recently closed a $210M USD deal with the exchange FTX for 10-years of naming rights.
CBCS is produced by LnK Gaming, a joint company formed by the union of Globo and events promoter DC Set, in partnership with Gamers Club, the entertainment group Omelete, and streamer Alexandre “Gaules” Borba. The circuit recently closed a partnership with Valve for some of its events to count for the official Regional Major Rankings (RMR).
