Dreamocel departs from the BOOM Esports roster

Having played for BOOM Esports since beginning his Dota 2 career,
Randy Muhammad “Dreamocel” Sapoetra has now departed from the squad.

Back in 2017 a new contender entered the Southeast Asian
Dota 2 arena as BOOM ID came forth – and for the first time ever we saw Randy Muhammad
“Dreamocel” Sapoetra playing. Since then the player has been exceptional and
stayed alongside BOOM through their rebranding and was the only remaining
player from the team’s original roster. However, after nearly four years with
the team, some amazing performances and a tough time being recognised in the Dota
2 scene, Dreamocel has decided to leave the BOOM roster.

In a video released via BOOM.tv, the BOOM Esports YouTube
channel, Dreamocel talks about his time with the team, his most memorable moments
– which included helping the team to three separate Minors via qualifiers in
the Dota 2 Pro Circuit and his inspiration, captain Alfi “Khezcute” Nelphyana. Dreamocel
goes on to admit that leaving the team was an extremely hard decision but one
that had to be made as the culmination of 2020 has been tough on him.

While not indulging in a reason for leaving the roster,
there is a chance that the player could be moving on to another team in the
region – with a lot of spots being open on some big SEA Dota 2 rosters.
However, this is only speculation and we will keep an eye on any news to come
out of the region in the remaining weeks of 2020. For now, the BOOM Esports
roster is down to four, with no announcement of a replacement for Dreamocel
just yet. While BOOM were not invited, nor did they enter the open qualifier
for the Beyond the Summit Pro Series Season 4: SEA event, it will be
interesting to see what they do moving forward.
