The groups have been revealed for the upcoming ESL One: Road to Rio. Alongside the groups are the dates for each regions matches.
The event will start on April 22nd with Europe and America opening things up. After that CIS will begin on April 30th and Asia/Oceania on May 6th.
Each region has its own prize pool with Europe leading the pack at $115,000, however, they also have more teams with sixteen compared to 12 or less for the rest.
The teams in Europe, North America, Asia, and CIS have been split into two round-robin groups where they’ll play in a best-of-three format.
The top half of each group in the European event will move into the double-elimination playoff bracket while the North America and CIS groups will only see the top three from each group move on. Asia having only groups of four will only have the top two reach the playoffs.
