FACEIT Appoints Former F1 Exec as Commercial Strategy Lead – The Esports Observer

Online competition platform and tournament organizer FACEIT has hired Giulia Zecchini as its new commercial strategy lead. Zecchini will leverage her background in data analytics to better showcase the potential value of FACEIT’s platform to brand partners.

Prior to joining FACEIT, Zecchini served as the manager for the commercial business intelligence team at Formula 1. During that time, she worked with brands such as Rolex, Heineken, and DHL (the latter already an active sponsor in the esports space). She also previously worked at Nielsen Sports, providing sponsorship strategy and asset valuations for various high-profile soccer clubs as well as the Premier League.

FACEIT has worked with various publishers to host high-level tournaments, including hosting a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major in 2018. The company also operates a competition platform that sees 20M users a month, according to a release.
