Fnatic’s search for a fitting duo support formula is over. Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong reunites with the team a month after he’s been kicked.
Over the past month, Fnatic made numerous changes to their Dota 2 team and Jabz was one of the first players released from the roster back in September. Following his departure, Nico “eyyou” Barcelon was brought back to join Djardel “DJ” Mampusti in the support lines. However, his trial lasted for just a few matches in the BTS Pro Series Season 3 before he got replaced with Kenny “Xepher” Deo.
The changes continued with Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang leaving the team at his own request, and while he preferred to stay away from the competitive scene for a while, Jabz joined a roster formed spontaneously by high profile SEA players left without a team or who are in the impossibility to play with their current organizations due to latency issues, such as Azel “Abed” Yusop.
Ironically, mere days after he was released by Fnatic, Jabz and his new stack, Among Us, bested his former squad 2-0 and contributed to Fnatic’s elimination from the tournament on the very last slot. Among Us placed third in the same competition, but the project seems unlikely to move forward, or at least not in the same formula.
Jabz is now welcomed back at Fnatic, but he won’t be taking back the captain hat again. He was announced to have joined in the position 4 support, with DJ continuing with his new support 5 and captain role duties for the team.
Fnatic are now down to four members, the last puzzle piece being an offlane player who would take the vacant post left behind by iceiceice.
Fnatic current roster from position 1 to 5:
- Marc Polo “Raven” Fausto
- Kam “Moon” Boon Seng
- ???
- Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong
- Djardel “DJ” Mampusticoach: Lee “SunBhie” Jeong-jae
