Gamers Without Borders bring a three day 1.5M dollars Dota 2 charity event

The Dota 2 tournament schedule for this week gets stacked. Gamers Without Borders announce a weekend charity event to take place May 15-17, with eight of the top teams in Europe and CIS and a prize pool of $1,500,000.

The Dota 2 competition is a part of a larger International Elite tournament held across multiple game titles with a total fund of $10,000,000 going to international charities fighting on the front-line against the spread of coronavirus. The winners of each tournament will be able to choose which COVID-19 charity organization the money will go to, additionally, fans can make their own donation following the instruction on the official Gamers Without Borders website.

While the format is yet to be announced, the eight teams competing this weekend at Gamers Without Borders are:

  •  OG
  • Team Secret
  • Virtus.pro
  • Team Nigma
  • Alliance
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Team Liquid
  • Natus Vincere

Na’Vi’s participation is rather surprising as earlier today, OGA Dota Pit announced that the team withdrew from the tournament that is set to commence tomorrow, May 12. For the rest of the teams, the Gamers Without Borders charity event comes as a change of pace after the nearly three weeks long WePlay! Pushka League.

So far, Gamers Without Borders held tournaments in PUBG Mobile and Rainbow Six Siege, Dota 2 being the third discipline in their 10M dollars International Elite charity tournament.
