Team Vitality has made a roster change as it looks to reevaluate its LEC starting roster.
The team, which currently sits in last place in the LEC, has turned to former SK Gaming ADC Juš “Crownshot” Marušič. Crownshot, who recently signed for Gen.G as part of their content creator team will now join Vitality as the sides starting ADC.
Crownshot will replace current ADC Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos, who will remain on the active roster with Team Vitality, saying that: “We have no doubt about his potential and he will keep training hard to make things work, therefore being able to offer the coaching staff a possibility to take strategic decisions in the future.”
Team Vitality has gotten off to a rocky start to the Spring Split, picking up just the one win against Misfits Gaming thus far. They will face off against Excel and Crownshot’s former side, SK Gaming, in their Week Four fixtures.
Vitality makes a change
So, Team Vitality is the first team to pull the trigger on a change, dropping youth in favor of experience. With the LEC now being a franchised league, you’d think sides would be more willing to give youth a shot considering there’s no fear of relegation. Secondly, we’re only in Spring Split. To replace your starter now, assuming it’s on the grounds of poor form, seems harsh.
Ultimately, if Crownshot comes in and performs, then you can expect Comp to be put into the Academy side for now. As for Crownshot, he’ll likely come in and do a good job for Vitality, especially given it looked like his playing time was up once he joined Gen.G.
