The $500,000 Europe and CIS Immortal division of OMEGA League is set to begin tomorrow, August 14. Given the stacked line-up of teams and the generous prize pool, the event is definitely the biggest one held online since coronavirus impacted the Dota 2 competitive scene.
With Evil Geniuses coming to compete alongside the best teams in Europe and CIS, and with Team Secret returning from a month and a half vacation, the battle for the title announces to be even more exciting. The tournament is also going to be only the second one that will feature teams from these two regions playing on the 7.27c patch and it will be the first time the fans will get to see how Team Secret approaches the changes from 7.26.
Prior to giving their players a break, Team Secret won six online tournaments in a row, but the even bigger feat is that they won all the grand finals with clean 3-0 sweeps.

After the Beyond Epic grand finals, all Team Secret players took a well deserved vacation and with them away, Nigma emerged victorious at OGA Dota PIT Season 2 by taking down Alliance in a thrilling grand final that went up to a decisive game five.
But although nobody has seen Secret in more than a month, they do start the OMEGA League from the absolute favorite position, and while many of their adversaries have done great efforts to gather in bootcamps for a better practice experience, the most dominant team in the region seems determined to avoid revealing any of their gameplay ideas on the current patch.
In an interview on the official Virtus.pro Youtube channel, Alexey “Solo” Berezin states: “Nobody seen them [Team Secret] in the current patch. They didn’t play anywhere and as far as I know, they didn’t play any scrims at all, so it will be interesting to see them. But I think nothing has changed much – Team Secret will play just as well.”
Virtus.pro and Team Secret will start the tournament seeded in different groups. VP are in Group A and will play their first match on the first tomorrow, against Alliance while Team Secret are fighting from Group B and will begin their journey towards the title Sunday, August 16 against Team Liquid.
