WePlay! Pushka League was quickly coming to an end, with
only five teams remaining when the day begun – but after the first series
between Team Liquid and Alliance, there would be only four.
Liqud had definitely upped their game considerably ever
since they lost their first two group stage games at WePlay! Pushka League,
even beating Team Secret then. But Secret got their revenge last night as they took
a fairly easy 2-0 victory, knocking Liquid into the lower bracket. For
Alliance, their brilliant group stage was quickly shattered in the upper
bracket when Virtus.pro Prodigy knocked them down and left them a loss away
from elimination. After beating Natus Vincere, the team moved forward but
Liquid would now have a shot at revenge.
Although Alliance were quick to draw first blood, their
kills for the rest of the first game were few and far between, with Liquid
finding a small early advantage. That said, it was all relatively even between
the two teams up until a fight around the Roshan pit little after 15-minutes. Liquid
were meticulous in their set up, not losing a single kill in that fight as they
wiped their opponent and from then on, Alliance could never fight back, as the
first game went to Liquid.
If they were to move forward in the tournament, Alliance
would now need to tie the series and take us to the first full-three game
series in the playoff stage at WePlay! Pushka League – and they managed to do
so with relative ease. Even with a Naga Siren, Liquid could not find a way to
break the Alliance lineup and game three was on the way. However, Liquid were
more than up for the challenge, as Maximilian ‘qojqva’ Bröcker’s Templar
Assassin went unkilled in the 40-10 destruction.
With that, Alliance would be unfortunately eliminated from
the WePlay! Pushka League, while Liquid will move on in the lower bracket where
they will fight next against Virtus.pro.
