Team Secret split their Gamers Without Borders winnings between two charitable causes

Gamers Without Borders 2020 had reached its final day of
play with the Grand Finals featuring Natus Vincere and Team Secret fighting for
the top two spots and a combined total of $1,100,000 going towards a charity.

The Gamers Without Borders event is essentially a series of
show matches in many different games, which aims to donate towards the fight
against COVID-19. The Dota 2 event featured a prize pool of $1,500,000 – all of
which would be donated to a charity of a certain team’s choice. Although six of
the eight teams had already been eliminated, their prize winnings have already
been added to the effort and now only Secret and Na’Vi remained, with first and
second place on the line as well as $750,000 and $350,000 respectively for
charity.

Although the series was for a charitable cause, Secret did
not hold back as they were in the driver’s seat right from the get-go. The only
time, throughout the best-of-five series, which Na’Vi had any sort of semblance
of control was in game two – which they saw a small lead for a short time.
However, Secret were far too strong the entire time and after their victory
earlier this week at the WePlay! Pushka League Season 1: Division 1, the team
would claim another 3-0 victory. However, at this event, there were no losers
as the teams imparted the winnings into charitable causes.

After winning, Team Secret decided to split the $750,000 into two donations, as seen in the Tweet above, one going to the Gavi Vaccine Alliance and the other going to The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. While this tournament is now over, Secret will return tomorrow to continue the OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online event and try to claim a third title in a two week period.
