VIE.bet sponsors Movistar Liga Pro Gaming league and Infamous Gaming – Esports Insider

NASDAQ-traded gambling company Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has expanded its esports betting brand VIE.bet into Latin America through two new partnerships.

The marketing-focused agreements will see VIE.bet sponsor Peru-based esports organisation Infamous Gaming and LATAM-based Dota 2 competition series, Movistar Liga Pro Gaming.

Bux Sayed, Head of Esports Betting for Esports Entertainment Group, commented on the deal in a release: “The exciting partnership between Infamous Gaming and our VIE.bet brand is a crucial first step in our expansion into Latin America. Infamous is a well-known and popular Peruvian based esports team with rosters in titles such as Dota 2, CS:GO and Rainbow 6.

“Their Dota 2 team has participated in the biggest esports events on offer, including the coveted International twice. We are thrilled to partner with them as they seek to make it to the largest stage once again.”

Movistar Liga Pro Gaming, which is produced by Live Media Esports Entertainment, commenced its eighth-season earlier this week. Some of the teams participating in the competition include Infinity Esports, EgoBoys and Infamous Gaming.

Last week, EEG inked a multi-year sponsorship deal with Kraft Sports and Entertainment to serve as its official esports tournament provider. This news arrived on the heels of several other similar agreements with US sports franchises and teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, and the LA Kings and Galaxy.

Grant Johnson, CEO of Esports Entertainment Group, added: “Our Malta license enabled us to pursue these great opportunities, and we look forward to providing further updates on expansions of VIE.bet moving forward. Latin America is a big esports betting market. We are excited to work with top partners like Infamous and Live Media Esports Entertainment to accelerate the rollout of our VIE.bet brand in the region.”

In February, the online gambling company submitted its gaming licence with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE). The license, which is expected to be approved in the Q2 of 2021, will allow EEG to operate and service bettors in the Garden State, including through its esports-focused sportsbook VIE.bet.

Esports Insider says: Esports Entertainment Group has been a usual suspect in the news the last several months. The company is ramping up its efforts and prioritising partnerships with reputable sports leagues and franchises, and wasting little time expanding into as many key markets as quickly as possible.
