After a long few weeks of action, the Beyond the Summit Pro
Series Season 3: Europe/CIS event has come to an end, as the grand final between
Vikin.gg and mudgolems has now reached its end.
After Vikin.gg made an amazing
showing in the lower bracket final, getting revenge on Ninjas in Pyjamas with a
dominating 2-0 victory, they would move into the grand finals where it would be
mudgolems awaiting them. When the two teams last met during the group stages,
it was mudgolems who dominated, winning both games in that series, thus it
would be Vikin looking for revenge once more.
An absolute stomp from Vikin came
out in game one as they took a little over half an hour to meticulously
slaughter their opponents in a 20-2 victory. mudgolems were only able to claim
their first kill near the 20-minute mark, and even with that, no turnaround was
in sight as they went down 0-1 in the best-of-five series. Looking far better
in game two, it seemed as though md had finally found their footing, building
up a near 40,000 net worth lead at one point in the game. However, a monumental
turn around from Vikin came out as they pulled the game into their favour and
destroyed md’s hopes of tying the series up.
With their backs against the
wall, md would now require a victory in game three to avoid losing the series 0-3,
while Vikin.gg were looking to close things out quickly. Going into the game, md
seemed to have control once again, but as things progressed, they lost
everything once again, as the Vikin.gg wrestled it back without too much effort
and the with that, the series was over.
Vikin.gg, after getting dropped
into the lower bracket, were almost untouchable, dropping only a single game
since to Khan and dominating all challengers else. With that, Vikin become the
champions of BTS Pro Series Season 3: EU/CIS and will now look forward to ESL
One Germany 2020 in under a week time.
