Yesterday was a big day for Assassin's Creed fans. There's a very small chance that the presentation left you disappointed, as there was something for everyone. Mobile gamers will get to experience an open world AC game with Codename: Jade, and after years of asking, we're finally getting that feudal Japan setting. Even the multiplayer fans will be happy as Ubisoft is working on something for them.
However, the highlight of the showcase was none other than Assassin's Creed Mirage, the series' return to the rooftop-running, hay bail-hiding, insta-killing game that it started off as. It will be set in Baghdad, at the height of its Golden Age in the ninth century, and a familiar face, Basim, will be the Assassin we follow this time around. Considering all of this, it only makes sense that the game launches with full Arabic voice overs in all regions.
This news was confirmed by Ubisoft's global manager of diversity and inclusion, Malek Teffaha on Twitter. "One more proud bit to end the night," he tweeted. "What would a game set in glorious 9th century Baghdad be without authentic dialogues? Assassin's Creed Mirage will be coming with Arabic dubbing!" When asked if this will be the case only with copies in the Middle East or all regions, he replied. "For the first time, it will be available with all copies of the game!"
Assassin's Creed Mirage was officially revealed via a CGI trailer last night, during Ubisoft's massive showcase. "In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you are Basim, a cunning street thief with nightmarish visions, seeking answers and justice," said the story description by ubisoft. "After an act of deadly retribution, Basim flees Baghdad and joins an ancient organization – The Hidden Ones. As he learns their mysterious rituals and powerful tenets, he will hone his unique abilities, discover his true nature, and come to understand a new Creed – one that will change his fate in ways he never could have imagined."
It will launch some time in 2023, although no hard date has been fixed as of yet. However, according to rumours, it looks to be around Spring of 2023.
