Black Desert Sage Class Detailed, Arriving Later This Month

Black Desert has finally pulled back the curtain on its mysterious new class – the Sage. Available March 17 on PC and March 31 on consoles, the Sage is a caster-type class that can unleash incredibly destructive spells.

“Armed with the cube-shaped Kyve, an ancient, god-defying weapon, Sage can open rifts in space, calling on Ator’s Fist and a range of offensive spells to smite his foes,” Pearl Abyss announced. “He can control time to reduce the cooldown of specific skills, giving himself and his allies a strategic upper hand. Sage is also the only class that can access Hystria Ruins and Aakman Temple without any entry items.”

As for his background, the Sage is an astrology researcher and denizen of an ancient civilization. He was also the first to discover the Black Spirit. The Sage, in an attempt to save the world, created Atoraxxion – an ancient weapon that would supposedly keep the “insurmountable threat” at bay.

Atoraxxion is also a new PvE experience for Black Desert. It promises to provide a unique gameplay experience where each member of your party takes on a different role to fight monsters and solve puzzles.

Black Desert has seen a strong start to 2021, as Pearl Abyss took over PC publishing rights from Kakao Games in North America and Europe. To celebrate, Black Desert was recently available for free on Steam. There were also massive promotions that gave away free Cron Stones and other in-game gear, along with the announcement of Shai coming to Black Desert Mobile.

The Sage looks to be another great addition to the already staggering Black Desert roster. Anyone looking for a powerful spellcaster will likely want to check out the new character to see if his skills are a good match for your playstyle.

If you’re a PC player, make sure to transfer your accounts before May 31 – otherwise your Black Desert progress will be permanently deleted.

Black Desert is adding the Sage class on March 17 on PC and March 31 on consoles.
