Blizzard‘s co-founder and ex-president Mike Morhaime has now launched his own development company named Dreamhaven, at the same time announcing the creation of two new studios under it: Moonshot Games and Secret Door, both boasting a roster of Blizzard talent.
Moonshot will be led by previous Blizzard executive producer and senior director of Electronic Arts Jason Chayes, game director of Starcraft II, Heroes of the Storm, and Command and Conquer Dustin Browder, and Hearthstone creative director Ben Thompson. On the Secret Door team will be Hearthstone, Starcraft II, and Heroes of the Storm executive producer Chris Sigaty, World of Warcraft and the original Starcraft’s game designer Alan Dabiri, and Warcraft III veteran Eric Dodds.
“I’m excited to team up with such talented people who care deeply about games and their communities,” said the new company’s CEO Morhaime. “I’ve always believed in the power of games to bring people together regardless of backgrounds or boundaries. With Dreamhaven, we look forward to creating and sharing new experiences with players everywhere.”
Elsewhere in gaming, Among Us 2 has been cancelled a month after it was announced.
