Fans of the Borderlands series will have fond memories of Borderlands 2. That’s when Tiny Tina introduced an in-fiction spoof of Dungeons & Dragons called Bunkers & Badasses. Now, with the help of the seasoned team at Leder Games, Gearbox Entertainment is turning that goof into a real tabletop role-playing game. A hardbound sourcebook titled Bunkers & Badasses — as well as a Deluxe Edition featuring miniatures and other items — goes up for pre-order this Saturday. Copies start at $59.99.
Players will be able to create their own characters within the world of Borderlands and then go on adventures — including a print version of the Borderlands 2 downloadable content that started it all, according to a news release. Adventures include Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep (“personally annotated by Tiny Tina herself”) and its unpublished sequel, Butt Stallion’s Hunny Heist, as well as The Merchant’s Quest for the Wizard’s Wand.

The project is described as a collaboration led by Nerdvana Games, a small brand out of Frisco, Texas. Gearbox is involved, of course, but so is Leder Games. The indie tabletop developers are perhaps best known for Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right, an award-winning asymmetrical strategy game.
Two versions of the game will be available. The first, which retails for $59.99, includes just the hardcover book. A deluxe version — including custom dice and miniatures — will cost $119.99. Those who pre-order by Sept. 30 will get a discount to $99.99.
