As well as ancient warriors and enemy foot-soldiers, Bright Memory: Infinite features a formidable array of boss fights. The Tian Yu Emperor and his three separate forms pose the greatest challenge, with his ability to teleport behind you before striking a crushing blow making him especially tricky to vanquish.
Whether you're struggling to get past your first run-in with him or if you've rage-quit the game after trying and failing to demolish the Six-Armed Emperor, this guide will give you the lowdown on how to conquer the game's most blistering series of boss battles.
How To Defeat The Tian Yu Emperor – First Battle
After fighting through hordes of enemy soldiers, Shelia meets The Tian Yu Emperor towards the end of the game's first section.
They have a brief chat during which the Emperor, like a true supervillain, delivers a stirring speech about world domination and a mysterious something called the Primordial Flood.
The trick to beating this first iteration of the Emperor is to remember his strengths and weaknesses:

Bullets are almost useless against the Emperor unless you have a lot of patience and a steady hand.
Instead of wasting your ammo, hit him with the Tractor Beam ability using your Exo arm device and slice at him with your blade whilst he is levitating.
When he drops back down, dash towards him and keep slashing him with your blade. This will stagger him so that he barely has time to stand up straight, let alone hit you with a ball of flames.
When your stamina depletes, repeat the process by throwing him into the air with Tractor Beam and whaling on him with your melee attack. The Emperor will be no match – for now.
How To Defeat The Tian Yu Emperor – Second Battle
By this point in the game, Shelia has made it through all manners of enemies to face off with The Tian Yu Emperor once more. From mandatory stealth sequences to even driving an armoured sports car with a rocket launcher on the roof, it feels good to reunite with your nemesis and finish him for good.
The Emperor swoops down from his high perch to taunt you with the Primordial Flood, again relishing in the impending destruction it will cause once it has been fully emptied across the land.
Let's go through the basics of this battle:

Since The Emperor will no longer be flung about when you use your Tractor Beam, try hitting him with your Lightblade until your stamina depletes before unloading your AR clips directly into his head. Use the AR's special tracking bullets if possible; he moves at great speed, so these bullets will ensure your shots land.
If you have unlocked it, the Shock Punch skill is an excellent upgrade for the Exo Arm Unit and will be far more useful than any other Exo skill against the Emperor. We've established that Tractor Beam won't work, but he also moves too quickly for Quake Punch to do much except waste your time.
If your health bar needs time to replenish its reserves, run a lap around The Emperor and pick up some ammo whilst you're at it. When you're not buying time to build health, however, don't give him the benefit of too much distance.
His ranged attacks pack a nasty punch, and your blade does more slash damage as a melee weapon than it does by sending the slashes hurtling at him from afar.
How To Defeat The Tian Yu Emperor – The Six-Armed Emperor
Just when you think you've nailed him down, the Emperor regenerates for one last shebang – and this time, he's bringing friends.
Resurrected by the statues of a bald eagle and some deadly-looking vipers, you'll notice from his alarming surplus limbs that he no longer goes by The Tian Yu Emperor, but rather the far more terrifying Six-Armed Emperor.
Since he's back from the dead and angrier than ever, you'll want to make note of his new and improved abilities and weaknesses:

Even though The Six-Armed Emperor sports a wider variety of punishing attacks, he can be defeated with a clever combination of running, punching, and whaling on him with your sniper rifle.
The sniper rifle deals the most damage out of all the weapons in Shelia's arsenal, being able to take out a regular soldier with a single shot. The trick with the Emperor in his final form is to deflect his attacks whenever possible by using your Lightblade to bounce them back before immediately pelting him with bullets again.
Hit him with your handgun's special Incendiary grenades, as these do the best job of staggering him. Quickly close the distance between you and pummel him a few times with your Shock Punch to deal some serious damage before running like hell. If possible, never turn your back on him unless you know he has been staggered – you can't deflect his attacks if you're facing the wrong direction!
The Dodge maneuvre will be vital for this battle since you can't deflect all of his attacks. When you see him starting to scatter shots in a sideways motion, dodge or slide away from them and then keep shooting.
It may take a few tries, but he will (eventually) go down like a giant, ugly lead balloon.
Get rid of any snakes you see spawning around you by slashing them with the Lightblade, and run like hell when the Emperor summons that giant bell to try and trap you under it. If you get caught beneath it, that's as good as an insta-death.
