Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Demo Coming Next Week

The wait for more Crash Bandicoot content will be over sooner than anyone realized, as a demo for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is due to be released on September 16, but only to people who pre-ordered the digital version of the game.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is the long-awaited new entry in the series, which will bring brutally difficult platforming action back to the masses. The story involves a rip in the space-time continuum caused by the villains of the previous Crash games, which opens up the gateway to different universes. It’s up to Crash and Coco to fix the damage and save the multiverse from harm.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is due to be released in October, but you’ll have a chance to experience the game early, as a demo will be released on September 16 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. This demo will only be available to those who pre-order the digital version of the game on either system. A new gameplay video has been uploaded to the official PlayStation YouTube channel, which reveals that Tawna is now a playable character in the game. Tawna has both a grappling hook and a wall jump, which gives her a different playstyle to Crash and Coco.

Tawna was Crash’s love interest in the early Crash Bandicoot games, but she faded from prominence over time and Coco took over her role as the main female lead in the series. The new version of Tawna comes from an alternate universe, and she is far more of an action hero than her original counterpart, who was little more than eye candy (for a certain sub-section of the audience) in the older Crash games.

The N. Sane Trilogy proved that there is still a lot of love for the retro platforming era of the old Crash Bandicoot games, and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has a chance to go in its own direction in terms of gameplay and story. Those who have been sitting on the fence will have a chance to try it out soon and determine whether it’s worth doing the time warp again.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is due to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 2, 2020.
