Want to change how you look in-game? We've got you covered. At first, when you first create your character in Disney Dreamlight Valley you'll only get access to some customizable features but once you're past the game's introduction, you'll gain access to much, much more.
In this guide, we'll show you exactly how you can change your appearance once you've made your character, how to change your clothes, and even how to design your own outfits from scratch! It's a lot of fun, and it gives you endless creative possibilities.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is still in Early Access, so this guide is based on the content provided at this stage. It may be subject to change as the game is further developed.
How To Change Your Outfit And Appearance
Once you're in-game and have gone past the introduction, you'll gain access to a house of your own. This also allows you to access your wardrobe via your backpack.
To change how you look, open your backpack by pressing the Inventory button. You'll see various options here: Inventory, Wardrobe, and Furniture. Select the Wardrobe menu, since it's the one you're looking for.
In your wardrobe, you can select the outfit that you want to wear as you play the game. There are seventeen categories of clothing to choose from. Plus, if there's something that you're not happy with regarding your character's physical appearance, you can scroll down to the second tab of your wardrobe and change it at will.
How To Design Clothing
One of the best features of Disney Dreamlight Valley is the ability to design your own clothes. This way, you can truly wear whatever you please, and have some fun creating new clothing options.
To make your own designs, go to your wardrobe. In the 'Categories' tab, select the 'Customize' option. Then, press 'Add New', which will take you to a screen where you'll have to decide which type of article of clothing you'd like to design.
It's possible to add up to 50 layers to a design. You can add stamps related to nature, food, flowers, and magic, or you can add shapes, symbols, objects, animals, and even your favorite characters. You can then place the element, rotate it, and change its size. Even if you save a design, you can always edit or delete it later on.
Messing around with the customization tool is the best way to get the hang of it before trying to make a serious design you want to wear in-game.
