Dying Light 2: Stay Human launched earlier this year, causing quite the buzz shortly before it arrived by boasting 500 hours of content. If that much game to explore still isn't enough, Techland has confirmed Dying Light 2 will eventually get DLC. No official word on what that DLC will include, but a datamine of the game's most recent update may have revealed a lot of what's to come.
Bub is the dataminer Dying Light players have to thank for revealing what is potentially coming next. Bub shared their findings on YouTube via a ten-minute video. If accurate, the new content coming to Dying Light 2 at some point in the future will center around an opera. The game's lead designer did say its DLC would be surprising, so an opera theme adds up in that regard.
According to Bub's findings, the other theme at play in the DLC will be a gladiator one. It will begin what appears to be an entriely new chapter in the game, and the files disocvered include 2,000 pieces of new dialog. You can hear some of that dialog in the video, although it might be worth giving that a miss, and stop reading here, if you plan on playing this DLC should it turn out to be accurate and you want to avoid spoilers.
The leaked DLC begins with you being taken to the opera, but with a bag over your head so you can't see where you're going. The men transporting you can be heard discussing how long they think you'll last. The gladiator link coupled with the potential DLC's opening moments suggests you'll be battling the undead for sport. Think the most recent series of Stranger Things, except the captive Demogorgons are zombies.
The opera house in which you may well be pitted against zombies for the enjoyment of others will seemingly be called Opera Astrid. As for if and when this DLC will be confirmed by Techland and made available to play remains unknown. Whether it launches as above or not, there will be a lot for those still playing the game to look forward to in the future. Techland revealed last month that the roadmap for the sequel is five years long.
