Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires: How To Get A Sworn Sibling

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires puts more of an emphasis on family than past games in the series do. Getting married and generating a child at the end of a conquest campaign is a big draw of the game and something that gives the game endless replayability.

However, you’ll notice that on the Family menu of your character screen, there are three slots labeled Sworn Siblings. This evokes the bond of companionship shared between Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei. Here’s how to forge unbreakable siblingships during Conquest Mode.

How To Get A Sworn Sibling

To become a Sworn Sibling with someone, you must attain an S Rank in relationship score with them. To get this, you need a score of 100, which is a tall order. The best way to improve your score with someone you wish to become the Sworn Sibling of is to regularly interact with them on Strolls and make sure you fight in the same battles.

Once you have reached S Rank with an officer, you can either ask them outright to become your Sworn Sibling or wait until they come to you with the offer. You must be on a Stroll for this to happen. Be wary that if the officer is of the opposite sex and comes to you with a proposal, this may be for marriage instead – pay attention to the event to be sure.

You can make your parents your Sworn Siblings, but not any of your actual siblings or other close family members, such as the children of your siblings.

If you are a Ruler, make sure you pick their suggestions during War Councils and choose their Secret Plan proposals during battles. These choices will bring your companionship score up with them far quicker than just interacting with them.

There are a few great benefits to having a Sworn Sibling. For one, they will be locked at S Rank relationship no matter what you do. In addition, they will always be by your side – this means that they cannot resign, nor can they be scouted or bribed by another kingdom. If you decide to leave a kingdom, your Sworn Siblings will automatically join you.

Note, however, that once a Sworn Sibling slot is filled, you cannot replace it with any other officer. If your Sworn Sibling dies in any way, such as being captured and executed in battle, that slot is made useless forever.

Getting a Sworn Sibling for the first time will get you the Oath Beneath Peach Trees achievement, referencing the legendary pact between Lie Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei.
