Fortnite Chapter Four is finally here, and it brings some major changes to the battle royale sim—for better or worse.
After a period of downtime yesterday, December 4, Chapter 4 is now up and running with a brand new Island to explore.
It features a number of medieval-themed landmarks, including The Citadel, Anvil Square, and Brutal Bastion.

The way players can traverse the map has also been tweaked. You can roll around in a snowball, hurdle or slide past obstacles, and even grab a bunch of dirt bikes with your squad and tear up the map.
One of the biggest new additions to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 are Reality Augments. These serve as a random perk system which can boost player's chance of victory. There's 22 Reality Augments available in each match, and they give you abilities ranging from increased ammo magazines to health regeneration.
Reality Augments are handed out to players randomly during the course of the match. Players are notified by a symbol which appears below the minimap along with a button prompt.
As usual, there's also set to be a ton of new battle pass characters available, including The Witcher's Geralt of Rivia.
Finally, Chapter 4 Season 1 features some new graphics upgrades thanks to an Unreal Engine 5 update, which gamers have praised as an impressive facelift to the game's cartoony style.

Is Battle Lab in Fortnite Chapter 4?
Fortnite Chapter Four hasn't only added new features, but also ditched some old ones.
One of the most popular features still missing from the game is the Battle Lab. This enabled you to explore the new map in 'peaceful mode' giving players the chance to learn the different locations before entering a battle royale.
Battle Lab was sadly removed from the game early in Fortnite Chapter Three and doesn't appear to be making a comeback, despite fans' outcry about the missing game mode.
