Fortnite developer Epic Games is taking the game offline for the launch of Chapter 4, Season 4. Coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC, update 26.00 will be available to download on the morning of August 25. It will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which means you won’t be able to play Fortnite for at least a couple of hours. If you want to know when you can log back into Fortnite, check out the Season 4 server maintenance schedule below.
The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, alongside details on when servers will be taken offline for maintenance.
“It’s time to get even. Are you in?” reads an Epic tweet.
“Downtime for v26.00 begins at 3 am ET with matchmaking disabled shortly beforehand. This is Fortnite Last Resort.”
For UK fans, this means that Fortnite will be taken offline in full at 8am BST, while matchmaking will be disabled at 7.30am.
Epic hasn’t revealed exactly when downtime will come to an end, but maintenance typically lasts for around a couple of hours.
However, because of the launch of a new season, Epic may keep the game offline for longer than usual.
This means Fortnite should be back online by 11am BST UK time at the latest.
The launch of a new season means players can purchase a new Battle Pass, complete with a variety of skins, items and emotes.
The new Battle Pass skins include Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars, as well as TikTok star Khaby Lame.
The other skins are named Nolan Chance, Piper Pace, Fish Thicc, Mae, Antonia and Kado Thorne.
New points of interest include Sanguine Suites, Eclipsed Estate and Relentless Retreat, which will launch alongside the sporty Nitro Fang car.
Based on the promotional material released by Epic Games, Zyg and Choppy’s Ray Gun will also return in the new season.
