Genshin Impact: 10 Pro Tips For Playing As Yun Jin

Genshin Impact has a wide variety of characters you can play as, and they all have their specialties. You can’t approach each one with the same tactics and expectations. Some of the characters you acquire will use swords, while others are skilled with a bow, and that’s not counting different levels of Elemental skill and what you should equip them with based on their weaknesses.

Depending on how you build a character up, and who you team them with during battle, you can potentially create a nearly unstoppable force to propel you through Genshin Impact. To do this, though, you need to know the strengths and weaknesses of a given character.

10 Elemental Burst Comes First

Every character has Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill, but Yun Jin doesn’t need as much leveling up with her Skill, at least, not at first. Her Elemental Skill will always be on the weaker side compared to the likes of Beidou or Chongyun, but her Burst is intense, even without boosts.

Building up Yun Jin's Elemental Burst will boost her (and the team’s) damage overall so prioritize this. It not only makes her a heavy hitter as the main DPS, but also as a support for teammates.

9 Constellations Can Make You A Star

With Yun Jin’s constellation, you can improve her as an overall character. With her most basic stats she’s an incredibly gifted fighter, but by focusing on the C1, C2, and C6 points of her constellation, you can significantly boost her performance.

C1, or Thespian Gallop, will help with Yun Jin’s cooldown period, decreasing it by 18 percent. C2, or Myriad Mise-en-scene, will grant everyone in your team’s Normal Attack damage by 15 percent for 12 seconds after she uses her Cliffbreaker’s Banner. Finally, C6, or Decorous Harmony, gives a 12 percent increase to Normal Attack speed for anyone under the effects of the Flying Cloud Flag Formation.

8 She Needs More Energy

One downfall of Yun Jin being so powerful is that she will drain her energy fast. Luckily, you can boost her Energy Recharge by equipping her with weapons that offer energy as a substat.

If you don’t have a viable weapon option for this – for example, the Favonius Lance – you can build teams around Yun Jin that will provide Energy Recharges from one of the other member’s booster stats. Either way, you’ll want her recharge source to provide over 150 percent worth of energy.

7 Go Digging For Artifacts

To get the most optimal results out of Yun Jin you’ll want to have the four piece Husk of Opulent Dreams artifact set. Artifacts offer boosts to a character’s stats regardless of what you have, but when you compile the set you’ll get a bonus to go along with it.

So while you can add the best artifacts to Yun Jin, this set of four will give her Energy Recharge and up her defense stats. If you’re using her as a support team member, the Dreams set will boost the damage for any time she’s off the battlefield. To find these artifacts you’ll want to head to the Slumbering Court Domain.

6 Geo Users Are Flexible

Unlike other elements in Genshin Impact, Geo users tend to be more versatile with the elements of their teammates. Yun Jin is no exception, as you can pair her will any team members, and it won’t affect her boosts and stats.

The most important thing to consider when building a team with Yun Jin is what artifacts and weapons the other members will have, so that she can react and support accordingly. Otherwise, you can place her comfortably with Cryo users, Pyro users, or even Hydro users with no noticeable change in stats.

5 Her Cooking Isn’t Just An Act

Though her background is in theater, Yun Jin has a passive talent for cooking. If you’re the type of player that relies heavily on the food items in your inventory to keep everyone alive during a fight, Yun Jin is going to be your favorite by far on your team.

Since she has a natural talent for cooking, the more practice she gets the more benefits her meals provide. In some cases, when she hits the perfect mark, it will give you a bonus portion of food, so you’ll be feeding twice as many with less resources.

4 She’s Ready For A Fight

Yun Jin is one of a handful of characters that come with decent Normal Attack stats, so you don’t have to worry about sinking resources into improving that stat straight away.

You’re better off saving up items in your inventory to increase the performance of the Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill stats. Especially when you can up her Normal Attack damage with only a weapon, there really isn’t an immediacy to this stat for progressing in the game.

3 She Can Be Your Main Chick

If you’ve built Yun Jin up to have high defense, and given her the right weapon to increase her damage and Energy Recharge, you’ve set yourself up to have an incredibly powerful DPS leading you into battle. Add to that any characters on your team that will offer bonuses and boosts, Yun Jin will only be stronger and a benefit in a fight.

However, you can just as easily use her as a support team member because she has a strong set of team boosting stats like her Elemental Burst that will buff everyone’s Normal Attack based on her defense stats.

2 Don’t Leave Her Defenseless

Yun Jin has lower defense naturally, but this is easily remedied by use of weapons and artifacts. Find items with defense as their main substat and equip her with them to make her defensive abilities as strong as her offensive.

As a bonus, the better her defense, the better her buffs and other boosts are for the team in general, so you’ll be giving everyone a bump up when you build Yun Jin up with higher stats.

1 Braun Over Brains

Yun Jin and Shenhe are often pitted against one another in conversations about Genshin Impact, probably because they were released around the same time. Obviously, Shenhe has her perks, but she is notably more delicate and flourishing with her attacks.

Yun Jin, however, is beefy with strong stats and team leader level damage. She provides safety and protection for her teammates, as well as critical damage against enemies, making her a true force to reckon with in the game.
