Being able to build new characters is one of the most pleasing parts of Genshin Impact. Hoyoverse does a great job of making characters unique even after having over 50 characters in the game, and Nilou is no different. She is a five-star Sword-wielding character who has some beautiful animations.

Nilou has Hydro vision, and she also has a big part to play in the Archon Quest of Sumeru. The community fell in love with her personality and design ever since she was first introduced, hyping people up for her character release when they can finally play as her.

Nilou's Ascension Materials

The ascension materials required for Nilou fit her lore perfectly, and here's everything you'll need:

All the materials mentioned above are the requirements solely for Nilou's ascension. You will need extra Mora and EXP materials to get her to the maximum level for a certain ascension.

Furthermore, you cannot ascend a character until you reach the maximum character level for the previous ascension.

Where To Find Varunada Lazurite Crystals

Varunada Lazurite is one of the seven types of crystals you can find in Genshin Impact. These are dropped by the world and weekly bosses, and they can also be obtained through time-limited events or character trials. Here are all the bosses that you can fight to obtain the required crystals:

  • Oceanid (Liyue)
  • Primo Geovishap (Liyue)
  • Hydro Hypostasis (Inazuma)
  • Aeonblight Drake (Sumeru)
  • Stormterror (Mondstadt)
  • Tartaglia (Liyue)
  • Azhdaha (Liyue)

Where To Find Padisarah

If you've farmed any regional specialty in Sumeru, you know that they can be very annoying. Thankfully, Padisarah is one of the specialties that are easier to farm. These can be found exclusively in Sumeru's rainforest region.

These beautiful flowers can be found in some main cities like Sumeru City, The Palace of Alcazarzaray, Pardis Dhyai, and Vanarana. They're scattered all over these cities, so it can be quite hard to find them. Furthermore, they will respawn after 48 hours of picking them up.

Characters like Tighnari can help you a lot while farming this regional specialty. This is because of his passive that marks the Padisarah on the map when you get close to them. Although he is a standard five-star character, so he can be quite hard to acquire.

How To Get Fungal Spores, Luminescent Pollen, And Crystalline Cyst Dust

All three of these mob items are dropped exclusively by Fungi scattered all over Sumeru. There are many elemental types for these enemies, but they're not immune to the element they belong to. This means that Hydro Fungi won't be immune to Hydro attacks and so on.

If you attack Fungi with an Electro or Pyro attack, they will go into an activated or a scorched state respectively. If you kill them in this state, they'll drop different items with a rare chance of dropping the items you need for Nilou.

When you're farming these enemies for her, it's much better to attack them with other elements, or simply use a Physical DPS like Eula.

How To Get Perpetual Caliber

Perpetual Caliber is a world boss drop obtained exclusively after defeating the Aeonblight Drake. This boss was released in the Sumeru Rainforest during Version 3.1 update. It can be quite hard to locate this boss for the first time.

This is an enhanced Drake that can attack both in the air and on the ground. Furthermore, he will develop Elemental resistance to the elements he takes the most damage from sometimes. He can be quite hard to defeat with just one elemental DPS.

While attacking, the Drake will reveal multiple vulnerable spots on his body. Attacking these will immobilize him for a bit and remove the Elemental resistance he gained. Of course, you can also use Hutao and just destroy anything with that overpowered girl.

How To Find Aeonblight Drake

To find this boss, you can simply teleport to the Waypoint on the north side of Devantaka Mountain. These mountains can be found in the southern region of the Sumeru Rainforest just above Port Ormos. Once you've teleported to the right place, you will see a flower beside it as shown above.

Apply Dendro to this flower, and it'll spawn a bunch of Grapples leading you directly to the ruin this Aeonblight Drake lives in. Once you've used four different Grapples, the ruin you need to enter will be right in front of you. Go through the path, and you'll find the boss sleeping happily until you wake it up to destroy it.

You will have to spend 40 Original Resin every time you defeat this boss to claim the rewards. Whenever you do that, you have a chance of getting two or three Perpetual Calibers. You cannot use Condensed Resin on world bosses in the game.

Praxis is one of the three kinds of talent books exclusive to Sumeru. These can be farmed from the Steeple of Ignorance domain found on the north side of the Sumeru Rainforest. They're only available on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday based on your server time.

Furthermore, some time-limited events exclusive to Sumeru can also give you these talent books. If you buy the premium tier of Battle Pass, you can unlock some of these books every five tiers.

The talent materials mentioned in the table above are the requirements for one talent. There are a total of three talents that can be upgraded to level ten, and you will need thrice the number of materials for all of them to fully upgrade Nilou. Furthermore, you're required to reach certain ascension levels to upgrade your talents.

How To Get Tears Of The Calamitous God

Tears of the Calamitous God is a weekly boss drop required to upgrade Nilou's talents over level six. This item is dropped by Raiden Shogun found in the End of the Oneiric Euthymia domain that unlocks after finishing the second story quest for Raiden Shogun. You can claim rewards from this boss once every week.

Raiden is one of the few bosses that can be defeated in one phase because she doesn't have an HP barrier. So, if you can hit hard enough, you can defeat her before she enters into the state where her resistance increases by a lot.

There are three different exclusive items dropped by this boss, and you have a chance of getting two or three of these every time you claim the rewards. The drops of any weekly boss can be exchanged for a different drop from the same boss using Dream Solvent.

You need a total of 18 Tears of the Calamitous God to fully upgrade all of Nilou's talents, which means six for each talent.
