Genshin Impact's newest limited-time event, Of Drink A-Dreaming, is certainly one that will leave players feeling refreshed. In a welcome divergence from the hustle and bustle of solving crises in Enkanomiya or racing frantically through player-created time trials, Of Drink A-Dreaming lets you try your hand at bartending as you craft drinks for some of your favorite characters.
This event has already been praised for its relaxing atmosphere, simple mechanics, and precious character interactions, so it's definitely not one you want to miss out on. Of Drink A-Dreaming will last until March 21, with a short follow-up quest that will hang around a few days longer. Time is ticking, and the customers are thirsty, so don't keep 'em waiting!
How To Unlock The Event
Is it really a Genshin Impact event if there aren't a few prerequisites? Fortunately, this event's requirements are enjoyable on their own, but you will need to reach Adventure Rank 28 and complete the Archon Quest "The Crane Returns on the Wind" along with the Story Quest "The Spindrift Shall Never Return to the Sea." The latter is actually Eula's Story Quest, but thankfully its Adventure Rank will be adjusted, and it will not require a Story Key during this event period.
Fulfilling these conditions will unlock the "Of Drink A-Dreaming" quest, which will prompt you to talk to Luka in front of the Angel's Share tavern. He will engage you in a brief dialogue before teaching you the basics of bartending. Once you finish his tutorial, you can take part in the event properly.
This event has two sections: Tavern Tales and Bartender Challenge. Tavern Tales takes place over the first three days of the event and is where you will acquire new recipes and interact with a surprise cast of the game's main characters. Bartender Challenge occupies the remaining duration of the event period, in which it will put your bartending skills to the test as you try to craft multiple drinks for customers within a set time limit.
How To Mix Drinks
Customers will give you their orders, and naturally, you must make them a beverage that matches their specified parameters. Interacting with the tavern's counter will let you open for business and begin mixing their drinks.
The first step to making drinks is choosing the right ingredients. Not all of the ingredients will be unlocked at first, but eventually, you will have access to Coffee, Tea, Juice as Foundations, Milk, Cocoa Paste, Caramel, Fizzy Water, Lemon, and Mint as Flavorings.
Drinks require at least three total ingredients; that means if a customer asks for a simple coffee, you will need to pour three portions of coffee.
Recipes for all drinks can be found in the "Recipes" tab, located in the bottom-left corner of your screen while mixing drinks. These recipes might tell you exactly which ingredients to use, or they might simply hint at the ingredients through their description. Either way, you're not punished for messing up, so feel free to experiment as you go along.
Do keep in mind, though, when a customer asks for an adjustment to their drink. If they ask for something "extra sweet" or "especially strong," for example, make sure to add an extra portion of the corresponding ingredient.
Once all your ingredients have been chosen, you'll play two quick mini-games to stir the drink and select its size. Not all customers specify the size they want — in this case, the size is up to you. Making the customers drink properly in Tavern Tales will present you with a unique dialogue in which you get to chat with them about drinks, drama, and maybe even Dvalin.
Event Rewards
Successfully completing all seven Tavern Tales will reward you with the "Tavern Shaker: Grumous Oscillation," a Serenitea Pot Furnishing that is a gift from Master Diluc himself. Additionally, there are 21 different recipes to discover during this event, and unlocking them all will reward you with the event-exclusive "Celebration: Binge Vessel" Namecard.
In typical event-fashion, finishing various aspects of the event will also earn you Primogems and leveling materials — maybe you can consider these tips for your excellent service.
