Genshin Impact Lantern Rite Riddle Answers

Genshin Impact’s Lantern Rite event quests have been going on for a while now, and we’re finally nearing the end of everything that has been built up. If you’ve been faithfully plugging away at the quest then you should, finally, be here, and it’s time to answer some pesky riddles.

These riddles can be tricky, but are deceptively simple in reality. You’ll find yourself at the lantern garden and you’ll be facing off against three floating lanterns, each with their own riddles to answer and solve, and in this guide we’re going to breaking down each of them so you don’t have to wrack your brain to attempt to glean an answer. We know not everyone reads every line of dialogue – who has time for that? – so this guide is here to help you through.

If you are looking for more Genshin Impact guides, make sure to check out what we have available, including how to kill every Elemental Boss, our character build guides, and our theory as to how Dainsleif is going to change the game in Genshin Impact. But for now, read on below for these riddle answers. We’ll be tackling the lanterns from left to right, by the way.

Lantern Rite Tales Riddle #1

“Rock-hard flesh and bamboo bones. Lives in the city with thousands of clones. Pitch-black sea marks the end of its flight. Within its body hides resplendent light.”

This first riddle should be pretty simple. You only have three choices to guess from, after all. Yes, it’s a Xiao Lantern. Lanterns are man-made and have, um, bamboo bones, I suppose. Easy, right? Okay, next!

Lantern Rite Tales Riddle #2

“A bamboo tube with powdered stone. Burns in the night as bright as the sun. It roars like thunder, very frightening. But it summons ash instead of lightning.”

The answer here is Firecrackers – though I would not have blamed you for assuming the answer was Baron Bunny. Like, other than the bamboo tube bit, it does describe Amber’s bunny, right?

Lantern Rite Tales Riddle #3

“Watch me rise from Wanmin and ride the wind to Jueyun. But if my string is broken, I flail and plummet to oblivion.”

This one is, um, depressing, no? And no, it’s not an adventurer using a wind glider. It’s a kite. Obviously, because of the string. See, these riddles really were simple after all, weren’t they?

You’ll get a handful of rewards for solving these riddles, but nothing particularly amazing, unfortunately. Congratulations on getting through, though! We’ll pretend you didn’t search for a guide to get there.

Am I supposed to write this in the third-person? Do you know how awkward it is talking about yourself like you’re someone else? No one would ever believe someone else has this many nice things to say about me.
