New and exciting content is coming to Genshin Impact this week, but first, gamers will need to sit through maintenance.
Mihoyo has already warned that they are taking servers down for an extended period, which will end with the launch of update 2.3
The good news is that the development team will credit everyone’s accounts with Primogems based on how long Genshin Impact maintenance lasts, with more being offered for longer server downtime.
There will also be plenty of new content and features available to those who log in after the dust has settled.
Returning characters will be headlining the first Banner, with Abledo and Eula set to receive boosted drop rates on November 24.
Two Character Event Wishes will be available simultaneously as Albedo and Eula are both up for a rerun, sharing the same cumulative pull count toward the 5-star drop guarantee.
Later in Genshin 2.3, Mihoyo will launch two new characters named Arataki Itto and Gorou.
Gorou is the weaker of the two, ranked as a four-star character who wields a Geo Visio, but favours a bow.
Ability wise, Gorou can buff his teammates in combat and both his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst deals AoE Geo Damage and buffs characters on the field.
This only increases if you have add more Geo characters to your party across PlayStation, PC and Mobile platforms.
Meanwhile, Arataki Itto is a five-star character who possesses powerful Claymore attacks and the power of Geo.
According to Mihoyo, Itto gains stacks of Superlative Superstrength with his Normal Attacks and Elemental Skill.

A message from the development team explains: “Each stack of Superlative Superstrength allows him to slash an empowered Charged Attack, the Arataki Kesagiri, and once the last stack is consumed, an especially powerful attack will be unleashed.
“With his Elemental Burst, Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil, Itto lets his inner Raging Oni King emerge, using his Oni King’s Kanabou in battle. When Itto transforms into the Raging Oni King, his Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Geo Damage.”
WHAT TIME DOES GENSHIN IMPACT MAINTENANCE START?
The official Genshin Impact maintenance time has been set for 10pm BST on Tuesday, November 23.
Server downtime is expected to last for around five hours and will end with the release of Genshin 2.3.
The new update will become playable on November 24 in the UK at around 3am GMT, and on the same day (Nov 23) in the United States.
Mihoyo is offering maintenance compensation of 300 Primogems to each player, which is set at an hourly rate so changes could be applied if downtime is extended.
Genshin 2.3 will boast new characters to unlock and the Winter Camp on DragonSpine to explore.
The Dragonspine Special Training will provide participants with three different types of challenges. The first one is Agility Training, which will put your speed to the test in specially-designed race tracks with various buffs, collectible seals, and obstacles.
The second challenge is the Tracker Training which requires participants to spot and melt certain Ice Crystal Piles to collect Snowman Components. If you’re already a veteran treasure hunter who never misses a chest, this one should be a piece of cake. Last but not least, we have Combat Training. You will find special Lures emitting cold air, buffing a great number of enemies around.
