After a massive Leviathan Axe appeared in London and Kuwait over the past week, a giant Mjolnir from God of War Ragnarok has now appeared in Delhi, India. When the Leviathan axe first appeared in London, it looked like a build-up to a possible God of War announcement, but it now looks to just be a part of Sony’s global marketing push.
As reported by industry insider Rishi Alwani on Twitter, Sony India put up a giant PS5 alongside Thor's Mjolnir as a part of its recent “Live from PS5” campaign. Another user reported that the company was selling PS5s at the location of this installation in order to bolster the campaign. This is one of many ways that Sony has made it clear that PS5s are in more steady supply now, as the stock situation in India also seems to have improved recently.
Although it now seems unlikely that these massive God of War items have anything to do with an announcement for the game, it's possible that some news from the series could be coming soon. Even though Ragnaork’s director, Eric Williams, has previously ruled out the possibility of a DLC, a PC port announcement could still happen somewhere down the line.
SIE Worldwide Studios head, Herman Hulst, has said that we’ll have to wait for at least a year before seeing anything about a PC port for Sony’s single-player titles, so it seems unlikely that a PC version of Ragnarok will be revealed anytime soon. For now, it's best to assume that Sony is just trying to push the PS5 as much as possible.
With the stock situation improving, Sony is now focusing on speeding up the transition of its users from the PS4 to the PS5. This was confirmed during a recent financial call, where Sony revealed that people were spending more time and money on the PS5 compared to the PS4.
