Ragnarok is almost upon us. Less than a month from now, on November 9, God Of War Ragnarok will launch, continuing the story told in 2018's God of War. On the same day, a God of War Ragnarok PS5 bundle will be available, a trailer for which was shown off today by PlayStation.
Although Ragnarok will launch on both PS4 and PS5, an impressive and perhaps somewhat controversial decision considering the current-gen console will have been on the market for two years, the trailer highlights the latter's benefits. Aside from the graphics, the PS5's DualSense will allow players to better feel the game and its attacks, while the headset, which doesn't appear to be included in the bundle, will allow players to pinpoint exactly where sounds are coming from.
While the launch date and the benefits of playing the game on PS5 are highlighted, how much the bundle will cost hasn't been revealed. Pre-orders don't appear to be live yet either. You can probably expect to pay well north of £500, even if you can opt for the digital edition of the console as part of the bundle.
Ragnarok will be the third PlayStation exclusive officially bundled with the console. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was the first, and Horizon Forbidden West followed. Since the current-gen console remains hard to come by, both of those games' sales were massively helped by the bundles as people scrambled to buy PS5s, regardless of what came with them. However, it was revealed this week that PS5s have become a lot easier to find in the US.
With Ragnarok now less than four weeks away, a number of details about what players can expect from the sequel have already been revealed. All nine of its realms will be explored, explaining why there will be 40 hours of game to play, but its story will be just half of that, around the same as the first game.
