God of War Ragnarok developer Santa Monica Studio has released a brand new update on PS4 and PS5. The new God of War Ragnarok update 05.01 adds the free Valhalla DLC to the game, while also making multiple bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. Valhalla itself takes place after the events of the main campaign, although fans can access the content at any point. You’ll also need to search for the DLC on the PlayStation Store and install manually in order to start playing.
Sony explains more: “Head to the PlayStation Store and download God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla. The DLC will not be automatically downloaded as a patch to the base game, you will need to download it separately from the store.
“In order to play God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla, you will also need to have God of War Ragnarök fully installed. If you are re-downloading GoWR and downloading GoWR:V at the same time, please wait until the base game has completely finished before trying to access the DLC.
“Once the base game and DLC have been fully installed, you will be able to access God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla via the main menu in God of War Ragnarök.”
