Grid Legends Is Launching February 25

Codemasters has revealed that the new racing game Grid Legends is officially launching February 25. To give us a taste of what to expect, the developers dropped 17-minutes of gameplay footage featuring different types of events across various real-world locations.

Grid Legends will follow in the footsteps of the previous studio's works, focusing on traditional races without an open-world available to explore

à la Forza Horizon 5. Instead, you can expect a cinematic story mode Driven to Glory starring Ncuti Gatwa (best known for Netflix's Sex Education), followed by a Career mode with over 250 events. Over 100 vehicles will be available to drive from day one, along with 130 tracks to try them out on, featuring iconic locations of San Francisco, Paris, London, and Moscow.

For the car-lovers, Grid Legends has got you covered with its wide range of vehicles, including not only your dream hypercars but also big rigs, stadium trucks, iconic prototypes, classic touring cars, and single-seaters. There are also more electric cars than ever — and special Electric Boost racing events to test them out among up to 21 other drivers. Race creator is another invaluable tool, allowing you to adjust car types, weather, and time of day.

What's more, the team hints at hundreds of AI driver personalities, each with their own nuances and differences, promising an unforgettable stand-off on the road. Cross-platform multiplayer is also on the table, allowing you to quickly connect and compete against friends across all platforms.

Grid Legends is a fifth instalment in the studio's racing series, which started back in 2008 with Race Driver: Grid. The latest entry, simply named Grid, launched three years ago to mostly positive user reviews on Steam. Now, with Codemasters being a part of the Electronic Arts family, we'll probably see new games from the British studio even more often, especially as EA aims to launch motorsport titles annually.

Grid Legends is coming to PC (via Steam and Origin), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5 on February 25, 2022. The Deluxe Edition of the game includes four huge post-launch expansions.
