Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a pretty simple platforming game, but if you're the kind of person who likes a good combat challenge, have no fear! The colosseum has what you seek.

This is a special place that you can develop in Waddle Dee Town, just like the Waddle Dee Cafe and Kirby's House. Looking to get the scoop on what you'll be up to here? We have it.

What Is The Colosseum?

The Colosseum is a place in Waddle Dee Town where you can take on special combat challenges in exchange for rewards and bragging rights.

These combat challenges are called 'Cups' and they require you to fight a number of bosses and mini-bosses back to back. Mini-bosses are fought two-at-a-time without a break in-between. You fight bosses and mini-bosses during the cup in a mostly random order.

In between each fight, you'll be able to take a pause in a room where you can replenish your health and choose a new Copy Ability (if you want to).

How To Unlock The Colosseum

The Colosseum is unlocked after you complete the final stage in the Wondaria Remains world. Wondaria Remains is the third world in the game.

When you return to Waddle Dee Town next, you'll see it on the hill above the Waddle Dee Cafe!

How To Unlock The Ultimate Cup

There are two requirements for unlocking the Ultimate Cup:

  1. You have beaten the Meta Knight Cup at least once.
  2. You have completed the Lab Discovera world.

You probably won't need to work to unlock this; as long as you've done the Meta Knight Cup already once it'll probably just pop up for you when you finish Lab Discovera, the second-to-last world in the game.

Tips For Fighting In The Colosseum

  • Only use the health recovery items if you're missing a significant amount of health, not just a little.
  • Do your research! Even if you don't know exactly who you'll be coming up against next, you do know the full roster. You can look them up in advance and check which Copy Abilities work on them. This especially comes in handy if you're having trouble with one boss in particular.
  • Invest time and resources in upgrading your Copy Abilities.
  • You can participate in these cups as often as you want, so it's a great way to earn extra cash for, for example, the gotcha machines.
  • If you can practice fighting the boss ouside the colosseu, do that for practice!
  • Finally, it's important to have the right Copy Ability for the job. Of course, this can be tough since you don't always know what boss will be coming up next. Choosing one you use often and are familiar with is always a good choice. Check out our list of the very best Copy Abilities for more details.
