Several long lost Metroid games for the Nintendo 64, Wii, and Wii U have recently resurfaced thanks to the investigative insights of the popular YouTube channel known as Did You Know Gaming. The channel has developed a well deserved reputation for bringing to light various forgotten aspects of video game history.
“New video,” the official account on Twitter for Did You Know Gaming posted. “We got the scoop on some lost games, so join us as we take a look at these Metroid games on the Wii, Wii U, and the Nintendo 64.” The social media account went on to say that “hundreds of hours of research went into this video including sifting through hundreds of old video game magazines and hunting down developers for interviews.”

Without getting into any spoilers for the video, Did You Know Gaming dives into the details of this popular franchise, revealing all sorts of interesting information, most of which is not widely known or broadly recognized.
This comes in the wake of news that Metroid Dread has been marked down to some of the lowest prices yet for Black Friday this year. The game was released on October 8, 2021 to widespread critical acclaim, gathering several awards and even a couple of nominations for the game of the year.
