The fourth and final set of the current Phyrexian arc now has a release date courtesy of yesterday’s Weekly MTG. March of the Machine sets out to change the world of Magic: the Gathering forever on April 21.
Where Phyrexia: All Will Be One will give Magic fans insight into the preparations of New Phyrexia for its coming invasion, March of the Machine will be the climactic battle between the Phyrexian invasion and the rest of the multiverse. Expect Compleated Planeswalkers, terrifying beasts, and heroic last stands from worlds detailed throughout Magic's illustrious history. And probably a few tragic deaths, too.
Pre-release events for March of the Machine begin April 14 and lasts until April 20. As usual, March of the Machine will release a few days earlier on MTG Arena and Magic Online (April 18, to be precise), while the tabletop release arrives on April 21, 2023.
In addition to the usual Draft, Set, and Jumpstart Boosters, March of the Machine will feature five new Commander decks "featuring new-to-Magic" cards, as well as a Collector Booster Sample Pack that'll contain eight set boosters. Pre-release events will also provide Magic fans with old-school border foils of Eternal Witness, Niv Mizzet, and Chord of Calling (in Brazilian Portuguese).
And if you thought Phyrexia was done with us after March of the Machine, you'd be wrong. Wizards of the Coast confirmed Machine of the Machine: The Aftermath will be a Standard-legal micro set coming immediately after the events of March of the Machine. Epilogue Boosters will each contain five cards, and there will be a Bundle and Collector Boosters too. March of the Machine: The Aftermath arrives May 12, 2023.
And in case you missed it, Phyrexia: All Will Be One will feature Universes Within versions of the Street Fighter Secret Lair cards from earlier this year, and horror manga legend Junji Ito will contribute his skills to the set with Showcase Frame cards, including one for Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. Phyrexia: All Will Be One arrives February 10.
