Fortnite is the king of the crossover. It's starting to seem as if Epic won't stop adding characters from other shows, movies, and games until absolutely everyone has a Fortnite skin. While everything from Star Wars to the NBA has a presence in The Loop, nothing has a bigger corner of the Fortnite universe all to itself than Marvel. We were promised years of crossovers between the two, and that promise hasn't been broken yet.
That partnership has continued this week as it was revealed via Fortnite's Twitter account that Moon Knight has now been added to the game. The skin has two variations, regular Moon Knight and Steven Grant's Mr. Knight who sports an all-white suit and tie as opposed to the slightly more badass looking get-up his alter ego Mark Spector wears when he transforms into the mysterious new hero.
The Moon Knight pack also includes a cape that can be worn as back bling to complete the look. The new skin's accompanying pickaxe are the two moon-shaped blades Moon Knight uses in combat. Unlike the Dr. Strange and Prowler skins added to Fortnite's Marvel collection this season, you will need to pay some additional V-Bucks should you want to traverse the island as Moon Knight. The whole pack with everything listed above is in the store right now for 1500 V-Bucks.
Epic has been pretty timely when it comes to its Marvel collaborations. Moon Knight arrives just as episode four of the Disney+ series arrives. Dr. Strange is a running theme this season, during which Multiverse of Madness will hit cinemas, Hawkeye and Kate Bishop were added to the game at the end of 2021, and Thanos came to the island to wreak havoc in tandem with the arrivals of both Infinity War and Endgame.
Reactions to Fortnite's Marvel skins have been mixed. Early indicators suggest the Fortnite community is pretty pleased with the Moon Knight skins as they are MCU accurate. However, other heroes added to the game are closer to how the characters look in the comics than they do in the movies, like Thor and She-Hulk. In defense of Marvel and Epic, the latter hasn't actually debuted in the MCU yet, but will likely be here before the end of 2022 via the upcoming She-Hulk Disney+ show.
