Chritmas is now right around the corner which means a number of live service games are starting to get into the holiday spirit. Fortnite's annual Winterfest event is back, and one of the ways MultiVersus will be celebrating its first Christmas has been revealed. By putting some of its characters in ugly Christmas sweaters.
Player 1st confirmed this week that the promised Game of Thrones stage will go live at some point today. What else will be added to the game has now officially been revealed via the game's patch notes, and the Christmas-themed skins coming to MultiVersus have been unveiled. Dubbed FestiVersus, no fewer than eight fighters will be getting into the holiday spirit.
Batman, Velma, and Arya are all among the characters who will be getting ugly sweater skins, each of which will set players back 800 Gleamium. Every skin comes with a little extra too. Finn and Jake are both wearing scarves, Arya has a woolly hat, and Batman is sporting a pair of antlers and a big red nose.
There are a couple of other Christmas skins featured that will cost a little more than the base 800. A Gizmo skin that wraps the Gremlin in fairy lights and pops a Santa hat on his head will be 1,500 Gleamium. As for the ugly sweater Superman skin, complete with Santa hat and a white beard, that's going to cost 12,000 cookies from the holiday shop. A new currency introduced for the holidays that players will need to earn rather than buy.
Player 1st and Warner Bros. will be hoping the Christmas season, and everything mentioned above MultiVersus will be doing to mark the occasion, will result in a renewed interest in the game. Its player base has been dwindling and the number hit an all-time low to kick off December. The addition of a new character might well be in order as the only fresh face on the roster so far in season two has been Marvin the Martian.
