MultiVersus is gearing up for its first festive season and leakers have already uncovered a whole range of skins from Calico Cake to witch Velma, priced upward of 12,000 Candy and 2,000 Gleamium.
The full list of cosmetics includes Mummy Reindog, Calico Cake, Dracula Tom & Jerry, Frankenstein Iron Giant, witch Velma, Black Lantern Superman, and Black Lantern Wonder Woman. Respectively, they cost 6,000 Candy, 12,000 Candy, 800 Gleamium, 1,500 Gleamium, 1,500 Gleamium, 2,000 Gleamium, and – again – 2,000 Gleamium.
Cake, for context, is a gender-swapped version of Jake taken from the Ice King's fan-fictions. Her advantage over Jake is that she can see in the dark and sense danger through her frizzled tail. The Black Lanterns, meanwhile, are a corps made up of zombies that want to eradicate all life. Like the other corps, they have a motto: "The Blackest Night falls from the skies. The darkness grows as all light dies. We crave your heart and your demise. By my Black Hand, the dead shall rise!"
The others are based on classic monsters and spooky Halloween costumes, with Velma and Reindog dressing up as a witch and a mummy, while Tom & Jerry and Iron Giant show off their classic horror chops. Jerry even becomes a little vampire bat.
The Halloween event starts on October 15 and runs for a whole month. During it, you can earn candy from games, and if you use Halloween skins, Stripe, or Gizmo, you can earn extra candy. A few of the new skins will be purchasable with that new currency.
Stripe is arriving in MultiVersus today, making this the second Gremlins character to breach the platform fighter's ranks, though he's not as friendly as Gizmo. Stripe was the antagonist of the first film, and his moveset reflects his outright villainy as he wields none other than a chainsaw. We also know that he's an Assassin, using both a projectile weapon and his own claws.
