If you want to make a good ranch in My Fantastic Ranch, you'll need a lot of gems regularly. This is the main currency required for any kind of upgrade to the place, and it can be significantly hard to acquire when you start the game for the first time.

The game tells you the basic things required for getting gems, but a few tips can make this process a lot easier. A detailed system allows you to choose the kind of output you want to get dynamically by selecting different kinds of activities and duos for them.

Better Duo During Lessons

The first thing you'll learn when you start playing My Fantastic Ranch is to teach a lesson to a student. These students appear in your ranch from a Magic Transporter if they're attracted by the number of activities and creatures you have. Every time a lesson is finished, you can earn a pre-determined number of gems.

In the beginning, you'll only have the Dressage lesson available, but you'll unlock Target Practice, Circus, and Aerobatics when you reach the required Reputation level for them. You can have multiple arenas for each of these activities as well, allowing you to teach dozens of students at the same time.

You can see the required Reputation level to unlock each of these arenas if you head over to the Builds section. You'll see the button to open this menu at the bottom when you're looking over your ranch. Head over to the second tab known as "Fields" to find them all.

The duo you choose determines the number of gems you can get from a certain lesson. Here are a few tips for making the best duo according to your requirement:

  • Every student has a default badge that shows the kind of creatures they like from the two types present in the game: Dragons and Unicorns. If you put together a type of creature with a student that likes it, they make a Super Duo, increasing the gem output from the lesson.
  • Furthermore, you can unlock up to three badges on every student, staff member, and creature. The second and third badges can belong to a specific lesson. If a student and creature have the lesson badge in common along with the creature badge, they make a Perfect Duo. This increases the gem output even more.
  • There is a certain scenario where a Super Duo can earn more gems than a Perfect Duo. This happens when the creature in the Super Duo has a badge to increase gems. So, you can get the most gems if you pair a Perfect Duo and the creature has the gem output badge.

Sometimes, you can get staff members who have the Teacher badge as their first one. This badge allows them to give lessons to four duos (up from two by default). This directly increases your gem output by letting you use more duos in a particular lesson.

Finally, you can upgrade a certain lesson arena once you reach Reputation levels four and nine each. Whenever you upgrade an arena, it will produce more gems for each lesson performed in it.

Finishing First In Tournaments

It is a long process to unlock tournaments in My Fantastic Ranch in the first place. You have to reach the required Reputation level to unlock Cosy Dorms. These dorms allow you to enroll students in your ranch so they can stay there permanently. This can also be a decent source of gem output.

Students give a certain number of gems in multiples of hundred whenever they try to enroll. You have a limited number of slots for enrollment, so make sure you have a balance between students with different badges for creatures and lessons.

Once you have Cosy Dorms unlocked, you can build Simple Tournament Clubs at the next Reputation level. After building them, you can send a certain duo to tournaments of three different types based on your upgrade level of the building. This starts with Simple Tournaments at the first level.

To enter a tournament, you have to spend a certain number of gems. If you don't perform well, you might get fewer gems than you initially spent, making this a high-risk procedure. A Simple, Renowned, and Esteemed tournament has an entrance fee of 150, 375, and 600 gems respectively.

If you're running for a tournament, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • On the top-left side of the tournament name, you will see the type of tournament it's going to be. You have to select the staff member, student, and creature with the badge for that type if you want to get a good ranking.
  • Super Duo and Perfect Duo have a higher chance to perform better during the tournament. This is going to be the place where you showcase the synergies you've created between your students and creatures.
  • Only the students who have enrolled in your ranch's dorms can take part in a tournament. This is why it's important to get a good balance of badges.

Making The Royals Happy In A Festival

Last but not least, festivals are also a decent way to earn a ton of gems if you pay attention. While there's a lot that goes into a festival, the part you need to pay attention to is the Carousel. You will have to select four duos for the Carousel without any staff members.

Depending on the kind of festival you choose, the King and the Queen will have some demands about the type of Dragon or Unicorn you have to use. The number of these demands increases with the type of festival, and it's the major factor that determines how happy they'll be with the Carousel.
