New Lord Of The Rings Gollum Trailer Revealed At The Game Awards

Gollum is a spiteful little creature with strangely beautiful eyes, but you all knew that already. However, the creepy former-halfling is central to the plot of the Lord of the Rings, the destruction of the One Ring, and the defeat of Sauron and his forces of evil. But again, you probably knew this already.

What you might not know is the plight of Gollum between the stories of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. Tolkien only briefly mentioned it himself, but this is precisely what Daedalic Entertainment is exploring in Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which the developer released a new trailer for at The Game Awards.

The new trailer sees Gollum have his way with a pack of orcs, which is considerably different to what we've seen before. While the environments of Mordor and Mirkwood offer contrasting experiences, the differences between stealth and combat will also play a big part in the game. You can watch the brand new trailer here:

Whether you're a Lord of the Rings or not, Gollum looks to be an interesting game that plays with internal conflicts in Gollum himself as much as conflicts in the world around him. And we're always happy to get another stealth game! While the climbing and traversal doesn't look particularly innovative right now, we've only seen a couple of glimpses and the art style does more than enough to draw us in and we can't wait to experience Middle-earth through Gollum's eyes.
