New Valorant Agent, Neon, Announced As Part Of Episode 4 Reveal

Riot Games has just revealed a huge update for Valorant, including a new agent, battlepass, and cosmetics. Fans won't have to wait long either, with the episode 4 content set to hit the game January 11, next Tuesday.

Episode 4, act 1, will also see the launch of the Protocol skinline, as well as a bunch of new loot to get on the battlepass. It will set you back 1,000 VP, including both free and paid skins.

We got a good look at Neon yesterday, with Riot dropping a short cinematic trailer with some gameplay thrown in. Today's announcement goes into more detail about what we saw in this teaser, explaining what exactly we can do with her in-game.

She's got a unique moveset, based around electricity and speed. Her abilities include being able to speed up, zap enemies within a certain radius, and even disappear into a tunnel of electricity – which hurts anyone who tries to follow her. With her attacks coming in fast, ambushing enemies before they can react, it's fair to say she'll probably make up for it by not being the tankiest agent in the game. Her description and appearance in the trailer definitely have her set to be a glass cannon.

We don't have all the details just yet, but Riot has given us a glimpse at some of the free loot we can expect to see:

  • Velocity Shorty w/ Variants
  • Operation: Fracture Player Card
  • Valentine's Tactics Player Card
  • Chicken Out Gun Buddy
  • Lost Connection Spray

As for the paid content, the developers have revealed some of the highlights ahead of release:

  • Velocity Karambit w/ Variants
  • Schema Vandal
  • Velocity Phantom w/ Variants
  • Hydrodip Frenzy
  • Unstoppable // Sage Player Card
  • Be Mine Valentine’s Day Player Card series
  • Big Brain Gun Buddy
  • Nice One Spray

If you're wanting to try this all out for yourself, Valorant is free-to-play exclusively on PC. A mobile port was announced last year, finally opening up the hero shooter to more players.
