A new Need For Speed game could be announced this week, as the official Twitter account hints at some kind of reveal coming soon. A new entry coming late this year has been rumoured for some time, and as we rapidly approach the end of 2022, it looks like that announcement is coming soon.
Apparently called Need For Speed Unbound, the new game is rumoured to be launching December 2 of this year. Finally, the official channels are breaking their silence, responding to fans asking if this is true.
"Hi EA/Need For Speed, we were told [a] reveal is [coming] this week. Can you guys confirm?", asked Twitter user @U5ER_141. This actually prompted a response from the official Need For Speed account, simply replying with: "👀".
While this still means that, technically, we don't have a statement on the matter, it's a pretty big indicator that the rumours are accurate. To further add to this, fellow EA developer Codemasters responded to the tweet with, "Announce Need for Sp…. oh." It looks like we won't have to wait too much longer for the news to drop now.
An absurd amount of details about this game have already leaked out this year, so much so that we apparently even know what the reveal trailer will look like. Said to be three minutes long, the trailer will feature music from A$AP Rocky as it shows the game in action.
Apparent footage of the gameplay has leaked too, depicting a mashup of photorealistic graphics and cartoony animations. This lines up with what we were previously told about the game from other leaks, which stated it will boast impressive graphics, while also featuring "anime elements".
Thanks to these leaks, the next Need For Speed game has been hyped up before it even officially existed. Fans in the replies to this recent tweet look forward to the news, seemingly happy with what they've seen so far. Need For Speed: Heat even saw a staggering 5,500 percent player increase over the weekend, thanks to it going free-to-play. However, it's likely that the long-anticipated news of a new instalment helped boost the numbers too.
