Playstation fans have days left to claim free games as May’s PS Plus announced

Playstation gamers only have until Monday to claim last month's free PS Plus titles or lose them forever, Sony has announced.

The April 2023 PS Plus lineup is set to vanish on Monday, May 1, so you only have until this weekend to add Meet Your Maker, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Tails of Iron to your game library.

They'll be replaced on Tuesday, May 2 with the PS Plus May 2023 titles, which include: GRID Legends, Descenders, and Chivalry 2.

So, make sure you've added the April titles to your library even if you don't want to download them just yet, as this will ensure you'll be able to access them for free as part of your subscription in future.

Let's take a look what you can expect from PS Plus in May 2023:

  • GRID Legends: This story-led racing game features some famous faces including Doctor Who actor Ncuti Gatwa as well as a huge amount of race variety. If you're a fan of motorsport it's definitely one to watch and its mockumentary style format should keep you hooked.
  • Descenders: Originally released as a mobile game, Descenders is a procedurally generated downhill biking / BMX game that promises different races and routes every time you play. It's now hitting PS Plus for PS4 subscribers so make sure you get in on the action.
  • Chivalry 2: This is known as one of the most epic medieval multiplayer slasher games. It allows up to 64 people to get stuck into huge medieval battles, and the PS5 version even comes with stunning 4K graphics in 60FPS.

  • Superfast Brave browser with 'ultra Incognito mode' will pay you to surf the web

What is the price of PS Plus?

PS Plus used to just have a single tier of membership that gave you access to several free games every month.

But with the dawn of Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass, which offers gamers dozens of games for the price of a Netflix subscription, Sony decided to up its game by shaking up PS Plus.

It's now got 3 different subscription tiers ranging from Essential (online multiplayer, cloud saves, and two downloadable games); PS Plus Extra (which adds on a catalogue of 400 PS4 and PS5 games); as well as PS Plus Premium (all the benefits of the above, but gamers can stream PS1, PS3 and PSP games).

PS Plus price list:

  • Essential: £6.99 for one month / £49.99 for one year
  • Extra: £10.99 for one month / £83.99 for one year
  • Premium: £13.49 for one month / £99.99 for one year
