Evolutionary items have always been an important aspect of Pokemon games, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus is no exception. There is a wide variety of evolutionary materials available, ranging from stones to disks. While researching in the Hisui region, you will eventually need a Sun Stone to evolve a certain grass-type Pokemon.
Fortunately, we are here to help you obtain this little orange stone. In this guide, you are going to learn the different methods of obtaining a Sun Stone. First, let's take a look at what Pokemon you can use a Sun Stone on.
Evolving Petilil
There is currently only one Pokemon that can be evolved with a Sun Stone, and that is Petilil. With a Sun Stone, this little bulb will evolve into Hisuian Lilligant.
To evolve your Petilil into Lillligant, select a Sun Stone in your inventory and then select Petilil. This will trigger the ability to evolve.
Now that you know how to use the Sun Stone, let's take a look at the different methods of obtaining one.
Jubilife Village Trading Post
The trading post is a small area located to the left of Galaxy Hall. Here, you can trade Pokemon, as well as trade in merit points (MP) for items. MP is a currency that you earn by finding lost satchels from other players. Fortunately, this works both offline and online. For more information on gaining MP, be sure to check out our guide on how the Lost and Found works.
For 1000 MP, you can purchase one Sun Stone.
Ginter's Specials
Ginter is a member of the Ginkgo Guild, located to the right of Galaxy Hall. This merchant will offer random items for high prices.
For 5000 Pokedollars, you can buy one Sun Stone. This item is not guaranteed to appear, so you may have to check back occasionally.
A Home Under The Eaves Request
This request is given by Ida, an old woman sitting near a Chimecho within Jubilife Village. As a reward for finishing this quest, Ida will give you one Rare Candy and one Sun Stone.
It's important to know that this request can only be completed if you have caught a Chimecho.
Digging With Ursaluna
While you dig with Ursaluna, you will have a small chance to find a Sun Stone. This stone is a bit rare, so you will have to do quite a bit of exploring before you find one.
Space-Time Distortions
While these giant distorted fields are active, you will be able to find a variety of unique Pokemon, as well as valuable items.
On the ground within these distortion fields, you will have a chance to find a Sun Stone. This is not guaranteed, since in general, Sun Stones are a bit rare.
That's all there is to know about Sun Stones. Overall, the best way to get this evolutionary item is to purchase it from the trading post with MP. Don't forget to get this item so you can have your own Hisuian Lilligant!
